The 2006 Appeal raised money for three local organisations - Inspirability, the Havant Portage Scheme and the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice.
Inspirability is a national charity, and locally it serves those in our community living with long term conditions / disabilities by helping them have the best life possible despite their health condition. Crucially it is run by unpaid volunteers from the local community, who have various long term conditions and impairments themselves.
Portage is a home visiting service which offers support, help and advice to families with a young child who has special needs. It's based in the Mill Hill Children’s Centre, Mill Road, Waterlooville and supports about 40 children from 0-4 years. The children may have difficulties related to specific syndrome, or sensory impairments such as blindness or deafness, physical disabilities or a general delay in development.
Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice is sited in West Sussex and extends its service to life-limited children and their families across the area wherever care and support are needed. The hospice provides psychological support, care in bereavement therapy, end of life and respite care and sibling support.
