Try A Little Tenderness - Guitar Quartet

Covered by numerous pop stars in various styles, and also featuring as an instrumental in the movie Dr Strangelove, this is well-known to audiences everywhere.

My arrangement suits a mixed ability ensemble from early intermediate to intermediate. The inner parts are a little easier. The top part requires good tone, good neck knowledge and the ability to play loudly, but sweetly, to carry the tune over some busy and fun-to-play accompaniment lines. The bass part is in two voices, but sits comfortably in the lowest positions of the guitar.

The orchestration matches the dynamics - a very light centre, and a full and rich final chorus.
There is no fingering, but playing away from the nut in the upper voices will give a wonderfully clearly and delightful sound, if your ensemble has the confidence.
