This is a glorious and uplifting piece that will delight any Christmas Concert audience!
My arrangement of this joyously upbeat Christmas piece follows the key of the original, but orchestrated to suit flute and classical (or acoustic) guitar.
The standard is just on the easy side of intermediate.
The Guitar is tuned down to 6=D and has the 3:3:2 rhythm that gives this piece its real sense of fun. Although the music reaches the fifth position in places, it’s generally in first and second position to give access to a deeper bass-line.
A competent flautist can make the final verse more dramatic by taking the music up an octave. This takes the highest note up to top F# which some intermediate players find a little unreliable.
Ideal for an intermediate duo.
