Mary Did You Know? - 3 Guitars

This popular Christmas piece fits a guitar trio (or large ensemble) very well.

I’ve made a key-change compared to the original, and the result is a piece full of familiar chord shapes and accessible to those with modest experience of guitar.

The tune ventures up the neck (though much can be played in the lower positions if desired, so I haven’t forced a particular fingering on players of this part).

The two accompaniment lines generate a wonderful stereo effect. In a large ensemble, it works well to keep Guitar 2 and Guitar 3 physically separate.
