Elton John's "Basque" - Oboe & Guitar

I'm pleased to tell you about another arrangement that is now published - Elton John's "Basque", this time for oboe and guitar.

I've based this on my existing arrangements, but in order to position the music in the "sweet spot" in the oboe range, I've changed the key, and I've also set the guitar part to be played with a capo on fret 2 so that I can use many well-known guitar shapes.

Elton John won a Grammy with this beautiful instrumental, and yet

• There is only one recording of it
• (At the time of this news item) there is only one other version of the sheet music - an arrangement for piano that has sections missing

I've produced four different arrangements.

• Basque for 2 guitars (tune and accompaniment) using familiar chord shapes
• Basque for 3 guitars (as above with a countermelody styled on the original)
• Basque for flute and guitar
• This one - for oboe and guitar accompaniment
