If there was one piece of music that showed the true extent of Michael Jackson’s musical prowess, it would surely be “Ben”, sung faultlessly and with great maturity at such a tender age.
My arrangement for 2 guitars is in a slightly lower key than the original, to coax a little more sustain from the guitars in this lovely, slow piece. With a Capo on the 3rd fret, the original key is there for the taking.
The roles of tune and accompaniment swap over at each phrase boundary to make a performance that little bit more lovely for an audience...
Two guitars make a wonderfully haunting and moving sound that an audience will most certainly enjoy.
- I've also arranged Ben for 3 guitars (slightly easier)
- and also Ben for Bb clarinet & guitar
- and finally Ben for flute & guitar
