So what would have happened if Captain Pugwash stumbled on Bill Haley and his Comets? Let's find out!
Here's a fun piece for players and audience alike - the Trumpet Hornpipe (used as the theme tune to TV's Captain Pugwash) is set in 3 parts - all very traditional. But then things take a bit of a turn when the music reappears in the style of early Rock & Roll.
Guitar 1 is the tricky at speed, but these piece works well at speeds way below the original. The slurs make things easier, and the use of E# instead of F natural makes it easy to see whether the slurs are moving up or down in pitch.
Guitar 2 is playing in 2 voices (one could actually give the top and bottom notes to different players if it helps make the piece more robust).
Guitar 3 is supplied in both treble and bass clefs - in a larger ensemble, you can use one or both in your ensemble. And it’s ideal for those with limited experience of guitar.
