Never Going Back Again - Guitar Trio

Never Going Back Again (Fleetwood Mac) - 3 Guitars

From Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" album, this is a charming finger style piece by Lindsey Buckingham.

The main guitar part is just a little bit tricky at the speed of the original, and in order to make this music accessible to a wide variety of guitarists, I have split that part into two, creating a lovely stereo effect which is much easier to play with confidence and robustness.

The original was in D with a Capo on fret 4 (making it F# major). On a classical guitar, a capo on the shorter neck forces the music onto the body of the guitar, making it a little cumbersome. However, the rounder sound of the classical guitar means that a slightly lower pitch and maybe a slightly slower tempo don’t detract from the music at all.

I’ve arranged the music in the key of D based on the original shapes. You can play this at pitch, but you might consider every player fitting a capo at fret 2 for a brighter sound, or fret 4 to match the original.

My arrangement is suitable for a trio (or large ensemble) that is intermediate or higher ability, though Guitar 1 is slightly easier than the other two parts.
