This hidden gem is a piece that, according to the BBC News website in July 2025, has amassed more Spotify plays than anything else over the last ten years. And yet it never began life as a massive hit, just a humble closing track to one of Lord Huron’s albums.
With its gentle pace, simple orchestration and poignant words, this is a charming piece. The clever and consistent use of mixed meter exerts a gentle pull on the flow of the piece.
Two Sample Pages are included so that purchasers on Sheet Music Plus can see representative parts for each instrument. There is no need to print these.
My arrangement is a semitone above the key of the original, so that the clarinet plays in (notated) C major rather than B major (sounding in Bb major). The guitar requires a Capo on fret 1, so that it plays in Bb using the guitar shapes of the original A major version.
- I've also arranged this for 2 guitars
- And also for flute & guitar
