Before you choose a guitar teacher you should be sure that you've found someone who has
- Qualifications that prove their knowledge
- Experience to teach at your level and a progression route to take you onwards and upwards
- Enhanced CRB clearance to work with young people and vulnerable adults

My qualifications
- I have a Master of Arts from Cambridge University - MA (Cantab)
- I have a diploma from Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music specifically in Guitar Tuition - DipABRSM
My professional standing
- I have CRB Clearance at the Enhanced Disclosure level
- I am one of a very few local teachers who is a member of the European Guitar Teachers' Association - EGTA
- I belong to the Incorporated Society of Musicians - ISM
- I belong to the Institute for Learning
- I hold appropriate Public Liability Insurance
- I don't teach as a part-time hobby, it's my income, my career, my vocation - it's what I do...
My relevant experience
- I have been teaching locally for 30 years, both privately and for South Downs College
- I run the Farlington Guitar Workshop (Est. 1988) for novice & intermediate adults to enjoy ensemble playing
- I run the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra - HAGO (Est. 1999) which performs concerts all over the South
- I have 18 Guitar Music books in print
- I review music for Classical Guitar Magazine
- I have been commissioned to write Exam music for Associated Board
