Tuition fees
My fees don't just reflect our face-to-face time - they include handouts and the preparation & paperwork that I do between lessons to make the very best of our time together.
I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the UK's professional society for classical musicians; my fees are comparable to other qualified & experienced ISM teachers.
Typical fees
One-to-one lessons are the fastest way to make progress. Book a term and pay in advance to save over 10%
- A term of ten pre-paid weekly 45 minute lessons with a half term break - £200 (£26.67 p/h)
- If you already play guitar, longer lessons fortnightly might be better - we can discuss this at your trial lesson
- Single one-hour coaching sessions - £30 payable at the session
- I am happy to travel to you; but I charge travel time at teaching rates and mileage at 40p/mile
The small print
When I take you as a student, you are part of my regular income; our lesson time is reserved exclusively for you
- I will agree dates with you for our lessons and summarise your lesson times & fees in writing
- If I cancel a lesson due to illness I will offer an extra lesson at the end of term or a free lesson in the next term
- If you cancel a lesson due to illness I will offer one replacement lesson at the end of term; no refunds can be given
Course material
- I can arrange tuition books, collections of music, optional exam fees etc for you - charged at cost
- I sell strings and guitar tuners at a discount
