Brief Study Notes

Though the words are well-known, there are a variety of tunes to which this carol is sung.
In the UK, this version, based on the tune by W J Kirkpatrick, is by far the most common.
 
My arrangement requires a top-part player with some confidence, but the remaining parts are first position and easy to read. In common with many songs, there is considerable repetition in the tune, and I've taken the opportunity to change the harmonies in the second half. Another variation is, of course, simply to rotate the parts between players on successive verses!
