And who are we to stand in the face of progress?

We've only just finished mourning the passing of the little brown roadsign to Bedhampton Retail Park - the park with only one shop. And now, there's something to top that.

A new sign has appeared, in a featureless grey that almost conceals it against a featureless grey May sky.

Massive and authoritative though the sign is, it poses as many questions as it answers . . .

• Havant already has a 'retail park' with 1 shop in it - it's called Tesco - and it doesn't pretend to be a "park"
   
• This is Bedhampton, not Havant.
   
• With no road signs to the Retail Park, you can't find it unless you know where it is...

Still ... there's nothing boring about the Havant Area!
