St George's - Waterlooville concert venue

About St George's Waterlooville

Situated right in the heart of Waterlooville, and a pleasant stroll from a massive car-park, this modern Church is home to the Waterlooville Music Festival, founded in 2006 with the specific aims of bringing together the local community and local musicians.

St George's has the unique honour of being home to the first Parish News on the Internet!

The original Church was built in 1831, for the then still-emerging village of Waterlooville. It was extremely small and a new church was built literally over the top of the old one in 1970. The original tower and sanctuary remain inside the new building. The sanctuary is now the Lady Chapel, but the original tower is completely covered by the new one.

Accessibility

The Church has ramped access for wheelchairs and the aisles are wide. There are toilet facilities designed for disabled users.

A broad Church in the physical sense of the word (!), the interior is light and spacious and yet there is a wonderful feeling of intimacy.
