Salisbury Methodist Church - Concert venue

About Salisbury Methodist Church

Situated in a peaceful narrow street, close to the massive dual carriageway that cuts through Salisbury, this Church, opened in 1811, has been beautifully restored and sympathetically extended to provide a wonderful venue for concerts, and a variety of rooms for meetings.

For a guitar concert, the "sideways on" seating gives exceptional visibility and an up-close sound.

Travel directions

Arriving by bus

As the venue is close to the city centre, it is served by a large number of Wilts & Dorset buses coming from many of the local towns.

Arriving by train

The nearest station is Salisbury. From there it is a 15 minute walk east, along S Western Road and into Fisherton Street, which is shown on the map below

Arriving by car

There are a number of one-way streets in the area - please drive carefully.

From the South

Approach Salisbury along A36 (Southampton Road), until you reach a roundabout where it joins the ring road (College roundabout - Salisbury College is clearly visible on RHS as you approach it).
Take 2nd exit (turning right/northwards) at this roundabout and follow A36 ring road. Shortly before you reach the next roundabout (St Mark's), there is a slip road off to the left (just past the open green area). This leads into Bourne Hill. Go straight down Bourne Hill, past council offices on your right, and take second left into St Edmund's Church Street. Salt Lane public carpark is 50 yds on the right. Parking is free after 6 pm.

From the North

Aim for St Mark's roundabout at the top of the map which you can click below. The roundabout is where the A36 (Churchill Way) meets London Road. Go round the roundabout till you see the A36 heading South. At this point, go around the roundabout a little further and turn off... Follow the road round sharply to the left along Estcourt Road. Continue along this road (which runs parallel to the ring road at this point) until it turns right into Bourne Hill at the end. Then follow directions to car park as above.

When you have parked...

The Church is a few yards to the South East. Its postal address is 26 St Edmund's Church Street, but most on-line maps show the road at this point as "Pennyfarthing St"
