hago has vacancies - visit the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra website to find out more.

hago (named in 2000) began as my Guitar Orchestra (formed in 1999) to challenge some of my most supportive players. Formed initially from the 12 Workshop players who had, in small groups, chosen, rehearsed and performed their own ensemble items in my 1998 Christmas Concert, hago meets once a fortnight. The music is more complex and in more parts than my Workshop music, and parts are written to suit the individual players. As a result, the part allocations are fixed, and the players rehearse their music to a high standard in their own time.

Read about hago at www.hago.org.uk, and hear us in Concert on that website too.

The hago music Collection contains over 50 pieces in 5 to 8 parts. We have contrabass, bass and alto guitars too, and, it's no surprise, if you've read my article in the Orchestra Pit, that these are passed around the players too. Attendance is always 100% or very nearly so, and our rehearsals are focussed and purposeful. Our goal is to keep improving - simple as that.
